Fishing lodge located on the Eg River. Fish for Taimen, lenok, and grayling in the Eg-Uur watershed taimen conservation area from $2250 per person.
This locally operated fishing lodge is located on the Eg River upstream of its confluence with the Uur. The camp is very comfortable with cozy accommodation in Mongolian gers (yurts) and a central lodge building. Bedrooms in a seperate lodge are also available. The camp also functions as a tourist lodge for visitors to the area, so while we will only book in six to eight anglers at a time, there is room for additional non anglers. The lodge is reached by a domestic flight to Muron followed by a six hour drive overland. The camp has access to around 20 miles of water and can accomodate spin or fly fishermen. The Eg River here has thickly wooded banks, so fly fishermen especially will benefit from our optional raft rental to improve their access to the water. Anglers can hike the banks or travel further afield by russian van.
Located in the Eg Uur Watershed conservation area the river here has healthy tamen populations, research work has shown taimen densities of 15 to 20 taimen per kilometre here. The lodge will arrange taimen permits from the Ministry of Environment, and be prepared for local rangers to check your fishing licence. Taimen fishing here is strictly catch and release with single hooks only; all taimen must be handled and released with care.
